And I agree with Annie, the names of the tools are just mouthwatering.Neilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18020242863144175965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13576894.post-11930909109350700152008-05-22T19:56:00.000-01:002008-05-22T19:56:00.000-01:00thank you for well done photots and comm. nice wor...thank you for well done photots and comm. nice work
PietPietrocellihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08160891962134999093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13576894.post-75587619632970634582008-05-22T12:53:00.000-01:002008-05-22T12:53:00.000-01:00Wow, Andy, wow! So amazing to see the progression ...Wow, Andy, wow! So amazing to see the progression of your carving. Thanks for showing it.

So I'm guessing that a scorper is like a tiny u-shaped gouge that you push through the wood? How about a spitsticker - is it knife-like? I'm curious about what tool you used when you added vertical lines to the sky and horizontal lines to the ground. Is it a tool that pushes through the wood, like a gouge? If I were to try carving in the opposite direction through an area that had already been carved (with the wood I use, which is a plywood) using any kind of tool that pushed the wood I'd be very likely to chip away lots of small pieces.

Technical questions aside, this is a lovely engraving and I agree with Barbara, your niece is very fortunate!Annie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00178236295806176573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13576894.post-77161878742604391962008-05-22T03:49:00.000-01:002008-05-22T03:49:00.000-01:00Andy,this is lovely, your niece is a luck girl!Bar...Andy,
this is lovely, your niece is a luck girl!
BarbaraBarbara Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04351565112180574841noreply@blogger.com
